Introductions serve as a sign telling readers what your content is about

When writing to analyze, inform, and inquire, you are answering a question or a series of questions.

The purpose of the introduction of this writing is to tell the reader what questions you are asking and a succinct mentioning of what your answers are. If the rest of your writing does not tie back to the introduction somehow, you've betrayed the trust of the reader.

They will most likely not be interested in your future writing as they won't expect your writing to be an elaboration of the ideas mentioned in your introduction.
