Social Media stifles creativity

creating - i either have to talk about something that people are actively searching for to MAYBE get engagement, or i talk about whatever i want and get no interactions at all. - reaching out with questions about things will just lead to either no response or bullying. people are so poisoned by the many awful interactions online that it's very difficult to have meaningful discussions with others or to really meet anyone. - there's a general anxiety that what i post is stupid or will be held against me some time in the future for whatever reason.. basically that people who i would never go to with whatever im saying IRL coming into my mentions and fucking me up for the luls i guess.

[[Social Media relies on engagements]] which causes creators to conform to whatever is currently trending. Depending on what the medium is, this can change your thinking as well. In other words, the way you approach thoughts and ideas changes based on the current, most popular line of thinking or desires.

That's why [[it's better to not care about Social Media trends for your content]] - if you're not looking to make a living off of it anyway. Though, this is part of why working as a creative isn't the most fulfilling at times.
